Fauna Marin - Elementals - Water Treatment

With Fauna Marin ELEMENTALS solutions you get a simple and inexpensive way of dosing used elements in the reef aquarium.

Elementals Mg

Elementals Mg is a highly concentrated magnesium solution for compensating magnesium deficiencies in reef aquariums.

Magnesium is an essential element that helps maintain calcium and carbonate concentrations in aquarium water.

It is used primarily by red calcareous algae and soft corals.

When available in the correct concentration, coral calcification rates improve.

We recommend maintaining Mg between 1300 – 1350 mg/L (at 35 salinity)

and checking Mg content regularly by a water test.

Elementals Mg Dosage:

  • 50ml per 100L (26 US gal) will increase magnesium content by approx. 100mg/L.
  • Maximum daily dose: Do not increase Mg by more than 100ml/100 L per day.

Elementals Ca+Sr

Elementals Ca+Sr is a highly concentrated calcium/strontium solution used for compensating calcium and strontium deficiencies in reef aquariums.

Calcium, along with carbonate, is the essential building block for the growth and development of coral skeletons and invertebrates.

We recommend maintaining Ca between 380 – 420 mg/L (at 35 salinity) and testing regularly with a laboratory water analysis.

Dosage of Elementals Ca + Sr:

  • 50ml per 100L (26 US gal) = 95 mg Calcium
  • 50ml per 100L (26 US gal) = 1.8mg Strontium
  • Optimal calcium value: 380 – 420 mg/L
  • Optimal strontium value: 8 mg/L

Maximum daily dose: Do not increase Ca by more than 25ml/100L per day.

Elementals KH

Elementals KH is a high purity stabilized multi-carbonate solution that easily increases the carbonate hardness/alkalinity in reef aquariums.

20 ml Elementals KH per 100 l (26 US/gal) will increase the alkalinity by 1 dKH.

Max. daily dose: + 2 dkH (0.7 meq/L)

Please make all changes to the aquarium slowly and carefully!

The recommended dKH value is 6 - 9 dKH. C

Elementals K

Elementals K is a highly concentrated potassium solution for saltwater aquariums for individual compensation of existing potassium deficits.

Safe and targeted correction of potassium deficits to an optimal value of 395-400 mg / L (at 35 salinity).

Potassium is one of the most important main components in sea water and should never fall below 370 mg / L. The potassium content should be checked regularly with a laboratory analysis.

Elemental K Dosage:

  • 10 ml /100 Liter (26 US gal) = 10 mg pottasium
  • optimum level 350 - 400 mg/Liter
  • maximum Dosage 50 mg Pottasium/Liter/0,26gal

The Elementals series is designed for use with regular ICP analyses. The Fauna Marin ICP analyses help you to keep your aquarium perfectly supplied.

In addition to the measured valuesFauna Marin ICP analyses provide you with all necessary dosage recommendations. In addition to the salts of the macro elements calcium, magnesium and carbonate hardness, we also offer a number of special trace elements whose function is essential in saltwater aquaria.

In contrast to macro elements such as calcium, magnesium or potassiumtrace elements are present in seawater in concentrations of less than 1 mg/l. These include, for example, copper, chromium, manganese or selenium, but also iron, iodine or zinc.

The function of trace elements can be very different. In the knowledge database on the Fauna marin website you will find an overview of the respective function of the individual elements. Trace elements can be contained in many different substances and can therefore also enter the aquarium water; however, despite their low necessary concentration in the watertheir deficiency can cause considerable problems. An adequate supply of all important trace elements is therefore indispensable for a healthy reef aquarium.

Our single element solutions consist of purest raw materials, which are produced with the appropriate organic or inorganic compounds depending on the function of the elements. For production and quality control we use our coral farm and of course our own ICP laboratory.
