Blue Life - Safety Stop Instant Fish Quarantine

Blue Life Safety Stop is a veterinarian-formulated 2-part dip engineered to protect saltwater and freshwater aquariums from serious disease outbreaks caused by external parasites, bacterial infections, and fungal pathogens. While extended quarantine in a dedicated hospital tank is ideal, Safety Stop provides a fast, proactive bath protocol that significantly lowers the risk of introducing deadly diseases into your display system, while boosting oxygen levels in the fish's bloodstream to minimize acclimation stress.

Key Features & Benefits

Dual-Action 2-Part Defense: Uses a sequential Part A and Part B bath protocol to target external parasites, harmful bacteria, and fungal pathogens.
Reduces Disease Transmission: Prevents newly acquired fish from carrying pathogens into your main display tank or existing quarantine setup.
Oxygenation & Stress Reduction: Increases dissolved oxygen in the fish's bloodstream to keep its immune system strong during stress-inducing transfers.
Veterinarian Formulated: Developed by aquatic health experts to provide a safe, rapid, and easy preventative bath protocol.
Multi-Fish Capable: A single prepared bath can treat multiple fish consecutively within a few hours before discarding.

How to Use & Bath Protocol

Pre-Bath Preparation:

Acclimate First: Acclimate new fish to the temperature and pH of your aquarium before starting the Safety Stop bath.
Prepare Containers: Add 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water directly from your aquarium into each of two clean, non-metallic containers (such as plastic or glass buckets).
Mix Solutions: Cut open the packages and pour PART A into the first container and PART B into the second container.
Aerated Setup: Place an air stone in both containers to gently agitate and oxygenate the water throughout the treatment process.

Dosing & Dip Sequence:

Part A Bath (30–45 Mins): Transfer the fish into Part A for 45 minutes (reduce to 30 minutes if the fish was shipped overnight within the last 72 hours). Place a loose cover on top to prevent jumping. Watch for stress signs (heavy breathing, erratic swimming, rolling). If severe stress occurs, transfer the fish immediately to Part B.
Part B Bath (45 Mins): Transfer the fish from Part A into Part B for 45 minutes, continuing to monitor for stress.
Tank Introduction: Net the fish directly into the display tank or quarantine aquarium. Never pour dip water into the aquarium.
Post-Intro Care: Feed resident fish simultaneously during introduction to occupy them, and keep aquarium light levels low for 24 hours. Discard the bath solutions after several hours.

Important Warnings & Restrictions

Ornamental Fish Only: Formulated strictly for ornamental marine and freshwater aquarium fish.
DO NOT Use on Invertebrates: Toxic to corals, sea urchins, starfish, snails, crabs, shrimp, and clams.
DO NOT Use on Scaleless Freshwater Fish: Avoid treating scaleless freshwater species with this protocol.
Do Not Exceed Time Limits: Never exceed 45 minutes in either bath.
Do Not Treat Sick Fish: Do not use on fish showing obvious, advanced signs of severe illness.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I pour the leftover Safety Stop bath water into my main tank? A: No. Never pour the bath water into your display tank or sump. Always net the fish out of Part B and discard the bath solutions down the drain.

Q: Can I treat multiple fish in the same bath? A: Yes. The prepared Part A and Part B solutions can be used to treat multiple fish either simultaneously or consecutively within a span of a few hours before discarding.

Q: Is Safety Stop a complete replacement for a hospital quarantine tank? A: While extended quarantine in a separate tank is always best practice, Safety Stop provides an effective, rapid alternative when full quarantine is not practical, significantly reducing pathogen load before tank entry.
