Seachem CupriSorb – High-Capacity Copper Removal Resin

Seachem CupriSorb is a powerful adsorbent of copper and heavy metals designed for both marine and freshwater environments. Unlike standard filtration media, CupriSorb is a narrow-spectrum chelating resin specifically engineered to strip copper from the water column more effectively than activated carbon. It is an indispensable tool for reef hobbyists looking to restore a tank after medication or for those in areas with high heavy-metal content in their tap water.

Advanced Chelation & Heavy Metal Control

CupriSorb offers a superior safety net for sensitive invertebrates and corals by ensuring total copper removal.

Targeted Adsorption: Specifically removes all types of copper, including chelated and ionic forms, even at low concentrations.
Rapid Action: Works quickly to detoxify water that has been treated with copper-based medications.
Visual Exhaustion Indicator: The resin changes color from a light amber to a deep black/green as it becomes exhausted, letting you know exactly when to replace or regenerate it.
Heavy Metal Neutralization: Also effective at removing other heavy metals that can be toxic to delicate reef life.
Regenerable Formula: Can be regenerated repeatedly for multiple uses, providing long-term value for the serious hobbyist.

FAQ Section: Common Questions

How much CupriSorb do I need for my aquarium? Use 250 mL (1 cup) for every 600 L (160 US gallons) to remove up to 15,000 mg (15 g) of copper. For best results, place the resin in a fine-mesh filter bag in an area of high water flow.
Can I leave CupriSorb in my filter permanently? Yes. It is an excellent "insurance policy" for reef tanks. If left in the system, it will continuously pull any leached copper from the rockwork or substrate that might otherwise harm invertebrates.
How do I know when it is finished working? The beads will turn a very dark, near-black color once they have reached their maximum capacity for copper.
