Pre-Bath Preparation:
Acclimate First: Acclimate new fish to the temperature and pH of your aquarium before starting the Safety Stop bath.
Prepare Containers: Add 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water directly from your aquarium into each of two clean, non-metallic containers (such as plastic or glass buckets).
Mix Solutions: Cut open the packages and pour PART A into the first container and PART B into the second container.
Aerated Setup: Place an air stone in both containers to gently agitate and oxygenate the water throughout the treatment process.
Dosing & Dip Sequence:
Part A Bath (30–45 Mins): Transfer the fish into Part A for 45 minutes (reduce to 30 minutes if the fish was shipped overnight within the last 72 hours). Place a loose cover on top to prevent jumping. Watch for stress signs (heavy breathing, erratic swimming, rolling). If severe stress occurs, transfer the fish immediately to Part B.
Part B Bath (45 Mins): Transfer the fish from Part A into Part B for 45 minutes, continuing to monitor for stress.
Tank Introduction: Net the fish directly into the display tank or quarantine aquarium. Never pour dip water into the aquarium.
Post-Intro Care: Feed resident fish simultaneously during introduction to occupy them, and keep aquarium light levels low for 24 hours. Discard the bath solutions after several hours.
