The WaveReef K1 series skimmers offer a remarkably compact design that elevates filtration performance in marine aquariums ranging from 15 to 80 gallons. Every aspect of these skimmers is engineered to address challenges commonly faced by other skimmers on the market.
Crafted from robust PVC and high-quality acrylic, all components are marine-safe and meticulously designed to provide the latest enhancements in foam fractionation. The elegant “Beer Bottle" curve of the skimmer body stabilizes the air and water mix as they transition upward within the reaction chamber. The impressively compact footprint makes these skimmers ideal for tight sump applications, and each skimmer disassembles completely for easy servicing.
At the core of the WaveReef K1-NANO and K1-50N is the super-efficient DCAIR-700/200 DC skimmer pump, which produces an abundance of microbubbles for effective protein skimming. The innovative pipeless output design allows for fine-tuning and trouble-free underwater outflow, ensuring quiet operation. Unlike traditional wedge pipes that can cause performance inconsistencies and noise, the pipeless design saves space and allows outgoing water to exit on the side of the skimmer below the water surface, providing splash-free circulation in the sump.
Additionally, the unique bubble dispersing chamber, located lower in the reaction chamber, offers multi-stage diffusion of water and increased contact time, enhancing foam stability for optimal performance.
