Application & Mixing Guide

1. Mixing: Dissolve each bag (A, B, and C) in its own separate 5-Liter (1.32 US gal) container of RO/DI water.

2. Dosage: Separately add equal amounts of all three solutions daily. DO NOT MIX THE CONCENTRATES in the same container.

3. Volume Lift: Adding 30 ml of each solution per 35 L (10 gal) of tank water will raise Calcium by 15 ppm and Alkalinity by 2.2 °dH.

4. Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 60 ml per 35 L of system volume per day.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why do I need Part C if I only want to raise Calcium and Alkalinity?

Standard 2-part dosing creates a byproduct of Sodium Chloride (table salt). Over time, this shifts the ionic balance away from natural seawater. Part C contains all the other minerals (Magnesium, Potassium, etc.) in the correct ratios to keep your water chemistry "natural" and stable.

Can I dose these solutions at the same time?

You should dose them successively. We recommend waiting at least 5–10 minutes between dosing Part A and Part B to prevent localized precipitation (cloudiness).

Do I need to adjust my salinity when using this?

Because the Balling method adds "total sea salt" components, your salinity will rise very slightly over time. During your regular water changes, simply ensure you are matching your target salinity to compensate for this minor increase.

Can I use this with a dosing pump?

Absolutely. This set is ideal for automated dosing. Because the solutions are stable and don't precipitate in the bottles, they are perfect for high-precision dosing pumps like the Kamoer or GHL.

What is the difference between this and "All-For-Reef"?

All-For-Reef is a single-bottle solution. The Original Balling Set is a 3-bottle system. Balling is often preferred by advanced reefers who want the ability to make micro-adjustments to specific parameters if the tank's consumption becomes unbalanced.
