Blue Life Flux Rx – Bryopsis & Green Hair Algae Treatment
Blue Life Flux Rx is an effective, veterinarian-approved treatment powered by Fluconazole, engineered to eliminate persistent Bryopsis and stubborn Green Hair Algae (GHA) in marine and freshwater aquariums. Safe for reef tanks, live corals, invertebrates, and fish, Flux Rx targets nuisance algae without disrupting the biological balance of your aquarium.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Reef-Safe Formula: Veterinarian-approved medication that eliminates Bryopsis and Green Hair Algae while protecting live corals, invertebrates, and fish.
-
Eradicates Stubborn Algae: Specifically formulated to kill fern-like Bryopsis and dense Green Hair Algae that standard cleanup crews cannot consume.
-
Preserves Bio-Filtration: Targets fungal-like pathways in targeted algae without stripping or damaging beneficial nitrifying bacteria.
-
Includes Precision Scoops: Package includes dedicated measuring scoops to ensure accurate, hassle-free dosing based on total water volume.
Preparation & How to Use
Preparation:
-
Turn off your protein skimmer and discontinue activated carbon and phosphate removers for the first 72 hours.
-
After 72 hours, carbon and phosphate removers may be resumed, but all other chemical filtration must remain removed during the full treatment course.
-
Do NOT use if you have macroalgae or a refugium. Remove macroalgae (such as Chaetomorpha or Caulerpa) to a separate holding tank before treating.
-
Use clean filter socks during treatment to capture decaying algae floating in the water column.
Dosing Instructions:
-
Large Scoop (1 cc): 1 level scoop per 25 US Gallons (approx. 95 Liters).
-
Small Scoop (0.15 cc): 1 generous/rounded scoop per 5 US Gallons (approx. 19 Liters).
-
Treatment Time: Allow 10 to 14 days for complete results and full algae eradication.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Will Flux Rx harm my macroalgae or refugium? A: Yes. Fluconazole affects plant-like macroalgae structures. You must turn off your refugium and remove macroalgae species (like Chaetomorpha or Caulerpa) to an isolated holding container prior to starting treatment.
Q: Why do I need to turn off my protein skimmer for 72 hours? A: Protein skimmers rapidly pull active medications out of the water via micro-foaming. Turning off the skimmer for the first 72 hours allows the Fluconazole to maintain proper concentration and contact time with the algae.
Q: What should I do if I accidentally overdose my tank? A: If an accidental overdose occurs, perform an immediate water change and add an all-in-one chemical filtration media such as Blue Life Clear Fx Pro or active carbon to rapidly pull the excess medication out of the water column.
